Pandemic has changed how we perceive things. Our views, job, family relationships everything has changed. Mostly at the starting of pandemic with all the chaos and stress we all have had a feeling of loneliness and desperate need to be engaged. That’s when social media came to the rescue. The relatable content overflowing their feeds was a source of solace to the bored minds. The challenges in Instagram and tiktok found a way to laugh at ourselves through silly redoes.
The era of influencer marketing began. Though influencer marketing was present before it, we can say it became more prominent now. Influencers with a satiable number of followers are targeted by brands and companies to promote their products. Influencers are mostly content creators and mostly everyone's personal favorites will be the ones posting sarcastic, relatable content, short videos. The next ones would be fashion and makeup, now who will get tired of watching satisfying videos of a beauty blogger or rather a vlogger who is trying different makeup blends. These micro influencers have followers ranging anywhere from 10k-100k have become the new face of a brand. They sponsor, collaborate and review their products to the followers so that they can buy better.
Feeling of oneness virtually. There was a time when we were completely away from our loved ones. We were paranoid and unsure of the future. But with the help of various social media we could meet, plan dates, hold video calls, play games, watch a movie together, naming some ways in which they have made our lives better.
Videos are the new favorite. The pandemic has increased the video consumption by 80% since the year 2020. Everyone likes a short crisp video on how a cake is decorated right? So we can say, pandemic kind of revolutionized the way social medias are perceived. Social media are now the new coffee shops where we hang out with our friends.
