In a yet another revolutionary step, Google now allows to remove personally identifiable information that is highly personal and should not be shared. So, if you accidentally gave your contact number, or address, relax! Google is here to help you and sort the issue out. This feature helps to remove any information which will put your identity at crisis, terms & conditions apply of course!
How the feature is useful?
Suppose you have given your information like house address; card details and you are now hell scared what if someone stalks your house? What if they take the card details? What if...? We know its endless thoughts of negativity but yet with valid points. So, to help you in such a situation Google rolled out this new feature.
Which all information be removed?
Though it comes with conditions applied, below are some of the places at which it is applicable.
Cons of Google’s new feature.
Content that’s part of public websites like Government websites cannot be changed.
If someone has the URL, they can directly visit it and share it, Google removes it only from search results.
The content will still remain on the web even if removed from Google.
How does this feature work?
To remove any personal information from Google, it begins with submitting a removal request from the users. In the forms they ask for many details and we should be prepared to give it so.
Google will review the request and notify the action further stated to the users.
So basically, this feature does help us, but it is best advised to not give our extreme personal details in any public platforms, though the net is our feel-good place, everything is not good on the net. It has a dark side and like being careful with a sharp knife, we should be careful while using net.
